This really is an important book for us to read as Americans and as members of the human race. As Americans we need to be aware of how these kinds of horrors arise so that we may prevent- resist- fight against any evil like the rise of the Third Reich. As human beings we simply need reminded from time to time that other groups of humans are equally as human as we are. That is what this book does- the diary of a wonderful girl who was able to write in such a way that her diary transcended time and place to speak to all of us. I did not say she was perfect- she was human. May we all express ourselves so well!
I am faced with hard choices, however. I must decide which good books to keep and which to send off. I can't keep them all. So this is one I have posted that I strongly recommend for anyone to read, probably from the age of twelve and up.
