Former Navy Seal Clarence Wolfe has a vendetta. His whole unit was killed by a landmine, leaving him seriously injured. Searching for the man responsible for the explosion leads Wolfe to go undercover at a sex club. While there, he runs into reporter Dana Mulberry who is looking for information on a murdered friend. Wolfe and Dana team up when they learn they are at the club to talk to the same person.

This is the third book in the Deep Ops series. Wolfe and Dana have been circling each other for a couple of books. She has a habit of getting in over her head and needing rescued. This time is no different. When shots are fired at both of them, Wolfe is trying to determine which one of them was the target. This leads him to decide that Dana needs protection and that she should move into his house. Though they keep insisting they are "just friends", everyone knows that they are perfect for each other.

I was looking forward to this story, but I found it a little slow with a lot of repetition. Wolfe would push Dana away, insisting that they can't have a relationship. Then he would give in and have sex with her. This was repeated over and over. The suspense story was interesting, but I felt the villain was bordering into "super villain" territory, always being one step ahead of Wolfe and Dana. On the upside, Roscoe the alcoholic, high heel wearing dog made quite a scene at a family wedding. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
