The style of writing fairly flowed and made it easy to read, except that there were many Thai (Chinese, etc, whatever) terms that weren't always explained which was a bit of a hassle. There were some interesting ideas throughout. However the story seemed to ramble, changing randomly from one viewpoint and subplot to another, and though there is a "windup girl" she wasn't a main character or concept (except that her actions were a convenient excuse for a battle}.

And the end just left things hanging.

In summary, I think the book would have benefited from more editing.
