Nigel Owen is having a rotten year. Downsized out of his cushy insurance management position, he is forced to take a job as acting director of a tea museum - and truth be told, he's a coffee man. Then Nigel receives word from the museum's elderly matron that a highly clever, dangerous criminal sits upon the board of trustees. But before Dame Elspeth can unveil the criminal, she falls over dead in the midst of a board meeting, presumably from a heart attack.
Annoying American tea curator Flick Adams apparently happens to know a bit about forensic chemistry - and in an effort to complicate Nigel's already difficult position, the indomitable Flick insists Elspeth was poisoned.
With the dame's demise, the museum's signature collection is at stake - and a killer is still at large. Can these two pretentious prima donnas follow the odd scriptural clues left by Dame Elspeth to solve this dodgy crime? Or might a suspect Earl Grey be the end of them all?
"A charming whodunit with two likable sleuths at the helm. You will drink in every last drop of this veddy English, tea-based mystery."
Mindy Starns Clark, author of THE MILLION DOLLAR MYSTERIES series
"What could possibly happen in a tea museum? You'd be surprised! DEAD AS A SCONE is a delightful tea party of a read, refreshing as a hot cup of Earl Grey, all spiced up with the intrigue of murder, mystery and romance."
