Not the best work of either author, but if you like stories that you can read quickly and easily, this one is ok. Kind of like reading two episodes of NYPD Blue. No twists or turns and a bit too much backstory as a percentage of the rest of the story. Just straight ahead investigation of straight and obvious murders. It seems they both had these stories laying around, realized there wasn't enough there to turn into a full novel, so they chopped them down to the bare bones and presented them here together.
