Logan Sand is an ex-fighter with almost destroyed hands is now a Private Investigator. According to Sand, he is the 'token man' working for the Lady Eye Detective Agency. Despite his disability, the ladies are quite drawn to him. He's a little bit of a tortured soul.... a little bit bitter...but has lots of redeeming qualities ... like his dry sense of humor. I really enjoyed his tough outer shell that harbors a need to love and be loved ... and his absolute refusal of self-pity. He is quite a character!

A mobster has been murdered and it's pretty clear his girlfriend did it. Along with the thousands of dollars he had stashed in his apartment, a very valuable brooch is missing. It's Sand's job to find the brooch ... while the cops concentrate on the girlfriend.

Lots and lots of action, beginning with page 1 and not letting up until the last page. Revenge, lies, secrets abound by the boatload. More than one person is searching and it's a race to the finish to see who finds it and at what cost.

This is first in a series, and I look forward to following Logan Sands on further adventures.
