Amy Walker is a woman with a target on her back. After being held hostage by rebels in the Philippines and rescued by Dallas Garrett and his brothers, Amy retreats to New York to look after her mother and try to protect her from her grandfather. Amy's Grandfather, Edward Walker, is responsible for mind control experiments on her mother. He is also responsible for Amy's kidnapping. Another attempt on her life and Amy knows she has been found. On the run, she arrives on Dallas' doorstep asking for help. A friend in Argentina has found Amy's grandfather. Amy wants to put an end to his tyranny and get on with her life. Dallas has wanted Amy since he rescued her in the jungles of the Philippines. Now he promises his protection while they fulfill her vow to bring her grandfather to justice.
Amy is a very strong woman who has gone through many trials in her life. But she doesn't let that slow her down and she doesn't dwell on the bad things that have happened to her. Dallas has also gone through bad times while fighting in Afghanistan. He suffers from PTSD and feels a bit lost in his life. Amy and Dallas need each other in their lives.
This is the last book in Cindy Gerard's bodyguard series and a good one. When Amy was introduced in the third book of the series, there was some serious chemistry between her and Dallas. I was disappointed that the next book in the series wasn't about them. Now they finally get their own book and I'm satisfied. Gerard also introduces new characters into the mix. They will be featured in the first book of her next series which I hope to pick up soon. My rating: 4 Stars.
