The book is loosely based on Chief Seattle of the Suquamish and the Duwamish and the speech he delivered during negotiations. The protecting the earth story is there but lacks authenticity. If you are going to use a speech then don't take liberty's, it is as simple as that. That all being said the preserve the environment message is loud and clear and for that I am giving it four stars. That and the illustrations are beautiful.
