Caution: this is an updated version of the HowDunIt Series book by the same name, written by the same author, published in 1996. While there are (evidently) a few additions/expansions in the name of "udating," the vast majority of the content in both books is identical, word-for-word. This should have been marketed as a second edition, not an entirely new book in an entirely new series.

That being said, this is one of the best writer's resource books I've ever read.

Page's writing style is accessible to general audiences and highly readable, and the book itself does an exceptional job of supplying RELEVANT details (from a writing perspective) in an easy-access format. The organization of the book makes it both a great self-educational/informational read AND a excellent specific-instance reference.

I've used the socks off my copy of the HowDunIt Series version of this book. Just be warned that, if you already have that version (as I did when I ordered this one), you already have the vast majority this version, too.
