An aging doctor and his near teenage wife take a pleasure trip to a Central American capitol. They think. Both are a tad loose somewhere as they rather easily link up with a local who turns out to be a nut job. Rather naive tourists, eh what. Anyway, this mess is difficult to follow as characters are identified by either surname or given name, but never by both. Later, the other name is used, but never are the two used together. Thus, most of the time you don't know which character is in the action. He also bounds back and forth in time, sometime without using names, so that you think the action is now when it is really back to the beginning of the book. If you still want to attempt this muddle, I suggest that you first check out Wikipedia for a précis.
