This series, unfortunately, seems to me to be going downhill rapidly. I liked the first one a lot, the second and third a bit less, and this one not much at all. For one thing, it's a bit more graphic in the sex scenes. I don't need or like that. For another, the behavior of the main character is less believable--even unbelievable. She's too silly (for me).

It's interesting that some authors can take a set of characters doing impossible, silly things and make it hilarious (say, Janet Evanovich or Tamar Myers). Others try it, and it just comes out silly. Each of us, of course, has a different threshold for this--my college roommate and I invented the term "grotesqueing point" for that limit beyond which you can no longer believe the story or identify with it. This one ventures out well beyond my grotesquing point.
