Ugh. Just Ugh. Describing it as "Downton Abbey" meets "Groundhog Day" is an insult to both "Downton Abbey" and "Groundhog Day."

I'm in the minority on this, because some people clearly love it, and I believe it's won awards and good reviews in the UK, but I had to give up after about 150 pages.

The author has never met a cliche he didn't like.

Having established the scenario (after only about 100 pages, in spite of the fact that the scenario is thoroughly spoiled by the fulsome blurb on the cover), he never stops beating you over the head with it.

Some negative reviews are saying, well, what can you expect, it's science fiction? It's not Science Fiction -- SF, good SF, isn't throwing any old nonsense at the pages, and changing the rules every five pages.
