After being fired from yet another position, Daisy Merrick gets a temporary job as a critic for the local newspaper. Her assignment is to review the latest play from author Sebastian Grant, Earl of Avermore, on its opening night. When her scathing review hits the papers, Sebastian is livid. The play closes within a week.
Sebastian owes a manuscript for a new book to his publisher, but hasn't been able to write a page in years. The publisher hires Daisy to help Sebastian with his book. But Sebastian has no intention of going along with this plan.
This is the last book in Laura Lee Guhrke's Girl-Bachelor series. It sounded like a promising plot to me, but I was totally bored with the first half of this book. The story trudged along and I wasn't sure Daisy would ever get to help Sebastian with his writer's block. The second half of the book moved along a little faster, but it couldn't rescue this story. My rating: 2.5 Stars.
