The last book in the series and I think it was my favorite. While centered around Harriett and Lawrence, there are several other characters that are well developed and their individual situations offer much to the overall effect of the story. The author does a nice job of blending the German and French cultures into an American Texas town and the descriptions of flowers, river, and the town itself made it easy for me to form a picture in my mind. Couldn't put it down.
