I mentally tapped my toe as I waited for Miss Ophelia to make her selection from the glass candy case.

Book 2 in the Devereaux Dime Story Mystery begins with Dev buying antique Easter chocolate molds from a stranger. After the purchase she becomes concerned that they may be stolen. Hurrying home, she prepares for a date with hunky boyfriend, Jake, who stands here up. All dressed up and no where to go, she accepts an invitation from former boyfriend, Noah. The function gives her an opportunity to acquire a new customer for her gift baskets. Dev receives a call from best friend Boone as the evening is winding down. He has been arrested for the murder of Elise Whitmore, the woman who sold Dev the Easter molds.

This is a most enjoyable series. I love the interaction between Dev and her two best friends, Boone and Poppy. Their friendship is strong and everlasting. I don't care much for Noah. He treated Dev so poorly when her dad was sent to prison and I don't think she should forgive and forget so easily. There was not enough face time with Jake in this book. I'm looking for more of that in the next one. Small town politics and gossip figure strongly in the plot. Twists and turns keep it interesting. Very good series!
