Oh Yay! What a wonderful book! The Mysterious Miss M by: Diane Gaston is very close to a trad. Reg. if it isn't one. I'm not sure if the subject matter disqualifies it or not. There are love scenes plenty since the heroine isn't a virgin. They aren't explicit in any way, though. This beautiful love story revives the romantic in me. After reading too many contemp. suspense/erotica titles it was needed.
Madeline (Maddie) is as innocent as a gambling prize can be. Devlin is a wonderfully real man making some foolish mistakes out of love and lack of experience. He scrambles for all he is worth to find solutions to the problems of those he loves. I had to go kiss my husband in his sleep at the thought of him facing a similar situation.
There is very little angst between the h/h. Some but very little. The enemies are from outside. A Harl. Hist. Regency, I probably would never have read it if it hadn't been recommended to me.
