Jayne Heller flies to Denver after her Uncle Eric Heller is killed, inherits his estate along with his crew of fighters against "riders" who take over humans. Coin is evil head of the riders. Her crew (Aubrey, vamp Midian, Chogyi Jake and Ex) helps her fight Coin, along with cop Aaron and his girlfriend Candace (who owe Jayne for helping them with a rider). Different idea from the usual paranormal/urban fantasy, and quite enjoyable. Will look for Book 2 (Darker Angels).
