This book has far too many complications and plot twists. If you haven't read the previous books, it will be hard to keep up with all the characters and all their relationships to one another as well as their previous interactions. Also, the whole story just seems to be one disaster after another; Sally can barely catch her breath from one assassination attempt before there is another one. She, however, is more concerned about her ambivalence regarding her relationships. Not only that, but the story doesn't sort itself out as the book progresses; it just ends. Looking at the synopsis of the next book (and the next), it appears this book is merely a "chapter" in a continuing, endless, confusing saga.
