If you want a firsthand view of the invasion from the people who were there, both from the American and Japanese view, then this book is for you. It is derived from many interviews of survivors, and from much investigation into the happenings of the attack. From disbelief, confusion, and misconceptions that an actual attack was underway, you get a different kind of feel for the attack. It takes you into the actual situations occurring during the attack on the ships, airfield, and into the barracks, homes, and hospitals as well as the Japanese pilots, their thoughts, actions, and their military command awaiting word aboard the carriers that the attack was successful. Very well written.
