Rather a different take on the whole vampire hunter thing. Dru, a hunter (sort of), is sixteen and totally alone when her father is killed. This is her coming of age story. The only problem is "what is she"? No one, including Dru really knows. Strange powers keep manifesting and she doesn't know why or how this is happening to her. Werwulfen (and a few other weird creatures) seem to be after her and her friend Graves (another loner from school who seems to be homeless).

When Christophe enters the picture, he tells Dru some things about herself and her family that she finds hard to believe. But it certainly seems to make sense considering what she's going through. When the shit hits the fan and Sergej appears, the fun really starts and the action is intense. A good start to the series with a wide open ending for many sequels.
