Typical romance novel. Jillane Simms and Slater Holbrook make a deal. She will keep house for him and he will play the role of "famous surgeon husband" for her since she lied to her best friend and bragged she had married a famous surgeon. She didn't realize he was guardian to six children or what she was getting into or what the outcome would be.
