This is a different kind of vampire book. I am not going to give it away, but the vampires in this series are cousins of the human. The human race is more of a genetic flaw. There is a story behind it and you just have to read how it all came about! This is one of the many storlines I enjoyed in this book.

Another, is the characters. For one Domini is one of my favorite! She is smart, career driven, commanding, strong physically and mentally. Not without flaws. And unlike so many other vampire series, her family member is present and a part of her life. Early on in the book you find out that there is more to their story but you have to read to the end to find out! Domini is conflicted and does not trust this stanger that suddenly pops into her life. He makes her feel all of these emotions she has one, never felt before. And two, has been shielding herself from. But, the best thing about Domini is she never looses herself or her independent ways. She falls in love with the PRIME vampire who by nature is possessive and used to getting his own way. She still speaks her mind and will maintain her own identity. This is my biggest reason for liking this book.

Alec, the big attractive vamp is your typical leading guy. He was in the army and is now fighting his nature with meds that allow him to appear a normal human like being able to go into the sunlight, and surpress the silver and garlic allergy that comes along with being a vamp. He loves his woman, and will do anything for her.

This book has lots of twists and turns that are all explained by the end of the book. There is only the mystery of Domini's grandmother but I think that may be taken care of in another book. I wish it had a little more sex. Like most vampire romance it sticks to the common "soul mates" storyline. I do not believe in soul mates, which is why I enjoy reading about them! This is an easy read that will leave you wanting! I hope I gave you an idea about the book without giving away too much!
