I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining and fast paced this is from the start! It grabbed me right away and what a ride! It is intense in places and a brutal murder mystery, but a fun Christmas read. It takes place over the 6 days leading to Christmas in 1833. As Scrooge tries to find the killer (after being warned by the ghost of his former mentor) he is accompanied by Charles Dickens (who promises to write of him in the future) and we encounter characters such as the Artful Dodger and even Miss Havisham along the way.
