I enjoy paranormal romance and I did not enjoy this book at all! I listened to it, so perhaps that has something to do with it. I might have been able to skim all the repetitive parts had I been reading and have been less annoyed.

The heroine has just tracked down a serial killer before this book begins, so you might think she is made of tough stuff, but she is SO dependent in this story. The "hero" is constantly putting her to sleep and she comes across as quite frail in spite of her special telepathic powers. I understand that a lot of explanation is necessary when you are building a fictional world, but readers are not idiots and do not need the same concepts explained over and over again. The premise of a race of people who can only survive if they find their life mate is an interesting one and I know this is a long series. It's just not the one for me! My recommendation for vampires and telepathic humans is Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series. If you prefer wolves, go with Patricia Briggs.
