Great follow up to Dark Lover. I think this is a better book than Dark Lover, but Dark Lover was good enough that I decided to get hooked on this series. This is an incredibly addictive series. The writing, the plots, the way each vampire character is developed is better than any other romance or vampire series I've read. Ward has a way of creating situations and characters that are very appealing to most women. It's like she read my mind. I wouldn't mind being a female character in one of these books.

Lover Eternal is about another vampire in the secret Black Dagger Brotherhood. The Brotherhood exists to protect the lives of vampires who are being hunted by soulless humans called Lessers. The vampires aren't your sparkly Twilight series vampires. Neither are they the type that live in coffins and drink from humans. The vampires in the Black Dagger world are sophisticated, urban, cultured, and very very sexy. They drink from each other when they need to feed. Must say the drinking scenes are quite sexy too.

In Lover Eternal, the lives of Mary, a human, and Rhage, a warrior vampire, intersect. He is absolutely gorgeous, but what I loved was his silly light-hearted personality. There was such a sweetness to him. I could see why she kept pushing him away. She's not in his league as far as looks, plus she has nothing much to offer someone so full of life and health. His curse (no, it's not being a vampire) comes between them and threatens their relationship.
The sex in the book is unbelievably hot - it's sizzling. *fans self* He is an amazingly considerate partner. Call me Rhage...call me! ;)
