I have not yet seen the book, but the author was flogging her book yesterday (3/28/2017) on Terry Gross' show on WHYY. Ms. Weinberger sounded very knowledgeable and I was impressed that she does cover current projects and where DARPA may go in the future (that depends on the interests of its 'client' and of the Trump Administration)with new technologies.
She has found that Cap Weinberger and the generals were surprised when President Reagan suddenly announced 'Star Wars.' He explained that he thought it a good idea to make public, even if it never worked out.
