Nick Cappauono is the Chief of Staff for U.S. Senator John OConnor. Nick and John are brothers of the heart; they've been friends for years. John is a heavy sleeper, so on the day of the biggest vote of his career, he oversleeps. Nick, angry, goes to wake him up at his Watergate apartment, but he finds John murdered in his own bed.

Sam is given the case, she needs a win in a big way. But the moment Nick and Sam see each other, old memories come back. Six years ago, they had a one night stand, and never saw one another again. Nick claims he called, but Sams roommate, later ex-husband, never relayed the messages. Now, the two of them can feel the sparks between them. But, they must first find out who murdered the Senator.

A Fatal Affair is a top-notch romantic suspense. The characters are well-fleshed and come to life from the pages. The plot is solid and will have you turning the pages late into the night, not knowing who the killer is until the final climax. If you love romantic suspense, give A Fatal Affair a try. I really enjoyed it!
