This is the last book and this series and it didn't disappoint. Iris was introduced in the last book, she is friends with Hugh (Duke of Kyle). This has very little in common with the previous books (only Hugh makes an appearance). Anyway, the Lords of Chaos are back. They were thought destroyed in the previous book, but not. They kidnap Iris, thinking she married Hugh and it would be a big statement for them to rape and murder the Duchess of Kyle.
Raphael has a history with the Lords. His father was their Dionysius (leader). It is explained what his father did to him and how he got his scar. He rescues Iris and to fully protect her, marries her. They met and had a dance in the previous book and he's been smitten since. His only goal is to bring them down.
This is a much darker book (with Raphael's history) which will bother some because of subject matter.
