I found this just a run of the mill story. There was nothing wrong with the writing or research; perhaps the crime simply wasn't gripping enough. The killer displayed signs of mental illness - or plain old bad character depending upon one's point of view. What failed to resonate with me was that I found myself simply not caring. Can't put my finger on why the connection to reader was so distant. The police action was nicely described. Guess I just wanted to hear more from the criminals and the book is short on that.
