I have read a number of "sequels" to P&P and while not all are great, this one was boring. While James did keep to the era of Austen, there is a way to be sparkling, witty, and emotion-filled in upper crust England--Austen did it!

What I disliked most was that Elizabeth is hardly in the story; it revolves around Darcy and Fitzwilliam so there is none of the snappy conversations or romantic misunderstandings.

I didn't expect a romance but I did expect Darcy and Elizabeth to be true to themselves--other characters were: Lydia--selfish; Jane--trying to please everyone, etc. but I missed Elizabeth and Darcy.

Sorry to say, I finished this book a disappointed reader.
