Audrey Callahan comes from a family of grifters (conmen) and made the mistake of doing one final grift with them. Unfortunately, the item they stole has military uses and caught the attention of the Hand, the Mirror and the Claw (vicious Egyptian mercenaries). Luckily for Audrey, Kaldar Mar finds her first (thanks to her worthless brother who sold her out for a few drugs, f'ing dirtbag!). Kaldar works for the Mirror and since the Hand killed over half of his family, has it in for them and their leader. Audrey joins Kaldar on the quest to find the stolen item (which her father immediately hocked) before the Hand gets its hands on this potentially lethal weapon. And God help them if the Claw gets involved. Audrey, Kaldar, Jack and George (Rose's brothers) hop round the country from Washington to Louisiana and back to California in search of clues. Always one step ahead of the Hand. We not always exactly cause what would be the fun in that?

This is a great story with really cool characters. I particularly liked Kaldar but then again, I do have a soft spot for bad boys. George and Jack's involvement really helped seal the deal, as Audrey and Kaldar surely could not have prevailed without their assistance.
