I really like our protagonist, Desiree Shapiro. I can relate to her "queen-size" figure and her love of food. :) This is book #2 in the series and with each book I read of hers, I like the characters that are carried through each book: Desiree, her niece Ellen, the homicide detective Tim Fielding, her neighbors. Each book gives us more insight to their personalities and their stories. In this novel, Desiree is hired to determine which identical twin lies in a coma as a result of being shot in her torso and her face. Sadly, both of the sisters were attacked this way but only one survived. Her client, is the fiance of Mary Ann and he hires Desiree to find out who survived. Although Desiree, swore to herself and everyone else she knows, that she will never ever investigate a murder case again, she deludes herself that she is *only* going to find out who is lying in a coma. I suspected who the "perp" was early on but it wasn't the author's doing at all. An enjoyable read. You'll love Desiree!
