Self indulgent, twelve-step pablum. Wurtzel has the opportunity to explore the intricate nature of addiction and to probe the underlying causes of her drive to consume stimulants but chooses instead to dwell on her petty insecurities. Ho hum. Maybe it's just me, but I find it hard to garner much sympathy for a beautiful, young, Harvard-educated rich girl and her self-induced problems. The writing is often terse and compelling, but it is style over substance all the way.
