Encouragement, encouragement, encouragement. That's what we all need to find an exercise regime that we enjoy. Unfortunately, this book spends an inordinate amount of boring text preaching about the benefits of walking. There's also some information on the history of walking (definitely abbreviated) and why we need aerobic exercise to maintain cardiovascular health. This is all meant as encouragement for taking up aerobic walking as your exercise of choice.
Then, finally, we get to the heart of the matter with a warm up/stretch routine, proper posture and how to use your arms to get better speed. Well worth the wade through the rest of the book to get to this part.
Thank you for the bit of information presented on actually walking.
