Aimed at the under-12-year-old crowd, this book was not up to the author's usual standards. The photos looked like they came from a zoo, without much variation. Having lived amongst camels for 2.5 years, I can tell readers they tend to be mean and like to bite. Because they have thick pads on their knees and chest, camels have no problem sitting on the hot sands (even when the temperatures are over 120 degrees F.).
