I have read Kylie Logan's "League of Literary Ladies" books and enjoyed them. Somehow, I am not as enthralled with this series. I find the main character, Maxie, to be annoying. She is very immature for a 29 year old, especially in her relationship with her half sister. I understand that the author wants to create tension between them but Maxie acts and, at times, thinks like a 12 year old. And, while I get that Maxie acting as a amateur sleuth is supposed to be the main focus of the book she acts very irresponsibly in tending to the business she is involved in with her sister. Perhaps if her attitude and comments weren't so irritating it wouldn't bother me as much.

The first book in the series, "Chili Con Carnage", was better than this, the second. I thought the ending was a stretch as far as the motive for murder. I will probably give the next book a try but if Maxie doesn't grow up a bit it will most likely be the end of the series for me.
