Paper Roses by Amanda Cabot was an excellent well written book. It is the story of mail-order bride Sarah Dobbs who arrives in Texas anxious to marry the man who has sent her such wonderful and loving letters. She discovers he has been killed. The brother of her intended is now in the picture. Sarah's future is not what she intended, but it may be better than she ever dreamed.
