Georgie Kennedy is finally moving up a bit in life. She's sold one of her gold claims to her good friend, Cougar Barnes, and bought a little house in Prescott, Arizona. Unfortunately, her grandfather in Chicago informs her that the claim was not hers to sell and insists that she come to Chicago to settle the matter. He plans for her to marry a good friend's son to cement their pending business merger, which is plenty upsetting because Georgie happens to be one of the most ornery, cussing, dead-eye shots in Arizona Territory. When she finds out that her grandfather intends to turn her into a proper lady, only the thought of making things right with Cougar induces her to agree. What follows is a thoroughly enjoyable read as Georgie attempts to fit into society and juggle one man who thinks she's a "graceless Amazon" with another who thinks she's one of the boys. Both fall under Georgie's spell, as will Carmichael's happy readers.
