I am only parting with this comprehensive history of teddy bears, because I already own another copy! If you collect bears, make bears, or even have ever owned just one bear, you will love this book. It is printed on heavy, slick paper, with full color illustrations of bears on almost every page. (This makes it over 1 LB to ship). There are descriptions and pictures of new bears, old bears, expensive rare bears, and reasonably priced toy bears, many, many well loved bears. Use it to try to identify your bear - Is it a Steiff? or maybe a British mohair bear from the 1930's? I even found a picture that looks very much like my brother's panda from the 1940's. United States manufacturers began to produce toy pandas after the first real panda arrived from China to one of our zoos in 1936. It is one of the best teddy bear books around.
