As one of Sidney Sheldon's biggest fans, I was excited to hear about this sequel to his dynamite saga, MASTER OF THE GAME.

I'm happy to say that I did enjoy MISTRESS OF THE GAME. It was a page-turner at times, following the shenanigans of the great Jamie McGregor's descendants, but overall, as another reviewer mentioned, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. There was lots of two-dimensional-ness about several of the characters and their actions. And lots of incestuous relations.

Lexi Templeton had big shoes to fill, and I found that I didn't like her very much, so I couldn't root for her as I did for her great-grandmother, Kate Blackwell, or great-great-grandfather, Jamie McGregor. The character I liked most was Gabe, a distant Scottish cousin of Lexi's.

As a die hard Sidney Sheldon fan, I'll still be looking forward to the next Sheldon book by Tilly Bagshawe.
