No matter what type of project you want to make, this book has a pattern for it (with complete instructions). The illustrations for technique are very good and the patterns are straightforward. There is something in here for all skill levels so even if you are just starting out, you will be able to complete a project quickly and easily. There are patterns in every section but I am most impressed by the large number of crochet patterns (I probably shouldn't be, since the book is copyrighted late 70's). Whether you want to continue in a craft that you know and love, such as knitting or crochet, or you want to branch out and discover (or rediscover) some oldies but goodies, like bargello or macrame, there is lots in this book to satisfy you.
