Contains three good western stories. "Black Sheep" by Max Brand was a bit over the top, as the main character was a nine-year-old-girl. The Louis L'Amour story, which is the longest of the three, I had read long ago.
My favorite was "Canon Walls" by Zane Grey. I didn't understand why it was first published in the "Ladies Home Journal" until I read it. There wasn't any gun fighting and no one died, but it was a well written Western romance which reminded me of the John Wayne movie "Angel and the Badman." In this case, the gunfighter doesn't kiss his horse and ride off into the sunset, but marries the girl.
