Being a cat mom myself, I totally agree with Jillan's doing the wildly inappropriate things that she does (spending money that is in short supply for a security system, bearding the thief in his home by herself, etc.). This the perfect model of a cozy mystery. I liked it and have already reserved the second of the series at my local library.
