Detective Mike Lawson had turned up evidence on three dirty cops and he was having a hard time with everyone for going against the code, even from his father a retired cop. When his gun was stolen he was suspended and was approached about working for Evangeline Preston and becoming a bodyguard for her deaf agent Cassie Allen who was working on a very important computer disk. He knew Cassie and was attracted to her.
