This book is one of the best historical fiction books we've ever read. The very idea of someone actually walking 1,000 turkeys from Missouri to Denver, Colorado is hilarious, but to think that this is an undertaking that several people in history actually accomplished, makes it even better. The characters are charming, the not-so-perfect speech makes you chuckle, and the shinanigans of the turkeys makes this book hard to put down. We are thoroughly enjoying this book at our house! I think we'll investigate this author and see what else she's written!
