After getting married to save Zoe from her late husband's family, newlyweds Ethan Truax and Zoe Luce have decided they are in love and want to stay married. As they're settling down into married life, they begin to believe that someone is following Zoe's best friend Arcadia. It turns out that Arcadia's not-so-dead husband wants to kill her. Zoe and private investigator husband, Ethan, try to track him down. As they work together, Zoe frets about their relationship. She has explained to Ethan that she has psychic abilities. She worries that he doesn't believe her.
This is book two in Krentz's Whispering Springs series. I have not read book one, but I didn't have any problem following what was happening in this book. This book is mostly romance. There is not much suspense at all. Ethan does have a few small cases going on, and Zoe is competing for a big job against a new interior designer in town; but it is just a backdrop for the various characters to talk about their relationships.
The story was also too long. The threat against Arcadia is over and done with; but we still had an hour and a half of the audiobook to tie up the little mysteries along with several relationships.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Amanda Cobb. It felt like she only had one voice for the women and one voice for the men. It was very confusing listening to a conversation involving three women. They all sounded alike. My rating: 2.5 Stars.
