I loved this brilliantly written book with its twists and turns of the plot. Alternating between characters and time periods, this WWII tale of betrayed friendship will keep you up late reading. I especially enjoyed the use of a child's perspective of the war. Unfortunately for me, I never took German and so I struggled with the frequent use of the German language throughout the story. However, I think this novel tells about Germany from a fresh viewpoint in a highly suspenseful style. Highly recommend.
