If you haven't yet had the pleasure of savoring "A Christmas Memory" - I envy you. Seven-year old Buddy lives in rural Alabama with relatives, including his 60-something old-maid cousin, Sook Faulk, the resident oddball and his BFF. Each November, they scavenge ingredients like pecans from a nearby grove, break into the Fruitcake Fund - a stash of coins squirreled away throughout the year and hidden under the floorboards - and pay an annual visit to Mr. Haha Jones for the most important fruitcake component: illicit whiskey. 30 fruitcakes are then lovingly sent to "friends"...including President Roosevelt, people they may not have met but like anyway, and other assorted strangers considered worthy. Don't be surprised to find yourself looking forward to tagging along with Buddy and Sook each holiday season for some fruitcake, a shot of Whiskey, and a side of true Southern charm.
