Book Review of The Zombie Survival Guide

About 20 pages into this book, I realized that the book is not funny and is truly written as a survival guide (well written, too, I might add). But alas, I was stuck with it since I bought it for a long car trip. I could only get through it in small chunks at a time before having to put it down. Sorry, folks, but 30 pages devoted to analyzing guns and their effectiveness against killing zombies just doesn't hold my interest.

My kids (12 and 14) , however, thought the book was hilarious and kept cackling from the backseat and spent the duration of the trip pointing out all the unsafe places to be during a zombie attack. Restaurant, gas station, amusement park, hotel...endless scenarios until my husband finally took the book and crammed it in his suitcase with a stark command that ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE was not to be mentioned one more time during the trip or ELSE!

So, for 40 year olds, the book was not so great. We didn't see any humor in it other than the concept. For teenagers, the book will make them wet their pants in hysteria. I suppose everyone else falls somewhere in between.
