This book is beautifully done. It is a collection of black and white photography that outlines what a powerfully turbulent yet artistic time the 60's were. Each page has a photograph with a caption, or sentence explaining the importance of the person or event shown. Each chapter has a theme, the first shows politicians, JFK, Chairman Mau, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, LBJ, Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, the Ghandi family, etc. The next chapter goes on about conflicts, Vietnam, etc., showing pictures of rallies, fighting in the streets, peace demonstrations, war, etc. Then there are chapters for entertainment, arts, fashion, sports, etc. So from the beatles, the rolling stones, Ravi Shankar, Elvis, Bob Dylan, The Supremes, Andy Warhol, Timothy Leary, Malcolm X, Cassius Clay, mans' walk on the moon, the hells' angels, the hippies, the KKK, the black panthers, fashion culture and the wild clothes that people created, it's all there in black and white. It's a great visual aid to demonstarate a rich culture and a time of change.
